India is the world’s second largest producer of textiles & garments and accounts for 4% of the market  share. The textile and apparel industry can be broadly divided into:

India has the highest loom capacity (including hand looms) with 4% of the world’s market share. In addition, it accounts for about 14 % of the world’s production of textile fibers and yarns.

The domestic textile and apparel industry in India is estimated to reach US$ 100 billion by 2017 and US$ 141 billion by 2021 from US$ 67 billion in 2014. Exports have been a core feature of India’s textile and apparel sector and its export is expected to increase.

Sewing Machine Operation

Sewing machine operators work within the apparel and textile industries, and also  in manufacturing units in accordance to their skill set. Those looking to become employed in this industry do not need any higher education, although experience is preferred. A beginner may work on a section of clothing using a single needle machine, while a more experienced operator may work on a particularly difficult section of clothing using a double needle machine. Operators familiar with stitching clothes are employed wherever help is needed within the industry.

In the garment industry, products are only as good as the patterns that they are made from. It is up to the professional patternmaker to take the designs or a prototype garment and develop it into a workable pattern for mass production. With so much of the profitability and success of the business riding on the original pattern, apparel manufacturers naturally want to hire only highly trained patternmakers.

Sewing Machine Mechanic Course

Sewing machine mechanics are repair specialists who work with industrial or home sewing machines, embroidery machines, and other specialty sewing machines.
